Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse composer, Daniel Pemberton, just announced that the legendary film's Live In Concert experience is kicking off its very own U.S. trek. This chapter follows the previously jam-packed shows in theaters for Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse's live concert spin. Now, the sequel is set to make its way back to the big screen, across over 50 dates scheduled in the country.
The Spider-Verse saga's identity draws inspiration from London's '90s rave and club scenes, creating these catchy bangers we all love with its synths and hard-hitting beats. Pemberton, the Emmy Award-winning composer carefully crafted both of the film's multidimensional scores, bringing iconic music that we all came to love. Though uncertain how it would work for a live-to-picture show, they made it possible for Into the Spider-Verse, and now its sequel, Across the Spider-Verse.
"I always thought it’d be impossible to do live, because they jump between so many different ideas and genres. But a long time ago, I did a couple of cues at a one-off film music festival, and I was really surprised at how effective it worked," Pemberton told The Hollywood Reporter. "So that got my brain thinking about trying to do the whole film live, and we did a couple of tests that went down phenomenally."
Get ready for an out-of-this-world experience as Across the Spider-Verse's sonic wonders make it to the live stage. Relive the whole film, and celebrate its iconic moments, joined by a live orchestra, a live scratch DJ on turntables, percussions, and other electronic elements that offer an immersive theatrical and symphony experience.
"Across The Spider-Verse is probably the most exciting, ground breaking and impactful score I've written," Pemberton shared, as cited from ET Online. "I've always believed that there should be no barriers to music, but it's rare to get the opportunity that you get within the Spider-Verse -- where else could you have powerful orchestral themes side by side with punk drum solos, virtuoso record scratching next to twisted electronics, off-kilter whistling next to hip-hop beats?"
Some of the film's iconic music and crowd-favorite hits from its soundtrack include "Annihilate" (with Swae Lee, Lil Wayne and Offset), "Am I Dreaming" (with ASAP Rocky and Roisee), "Hummingbird" (with James Blake), "Calling" (with Swae Lee and Nav featuring A Boogie wit da Hoodie), "Self Love" (with Coi Leray), and many more.
