What do you wear to the Cadillac Palace Theatre in Chicago?

You can wear dressy or casual attire to the Cadillac Palace Theatre. The theater has no explicit dress code, though many patrons choose to dress up for Broadway performances. Jeans and T-shirts are common and would not look out of place in this venue. In general, avoid any clothing with offensive language or messaging.  

Are dress circle seats good at the Cadillac Palace Theatre?

Dress circle seats offer excellent views at the Cadillac Palace Theatre. This section is one tier up from the floor orchestra seating. Many patrons prefer this first tier over orchestra seats because it gives them an elevated view of the performance, ensuring that they can see all areas of the stage. 

The dress circle includes right, right center, center, left center, and left sections, all of which offer great visibility. The right and left sections are on the outermost edges of the theater, expanding over a portion of the orchestra section. 

What did the Cadillac Palace Theatre used to be called?

The Cadillac Palace Theatre used to be called the New Palace Theatre and then transitioned to the Bismarck Theatre in 1984. It wasn’t until 1999 that Cadillac bought naming rights to the venue and renamed it the Cadillac Palace Theatre, adding a new chapter to its iconic status. 

Is there food and drink available?

Yes, various snacks are always available, as well as alcohol and soft drinks.

When do doors open? How early should I arrive?

The doors open 30 minutes prior to the performance but we recommend arriving earlier to enjoy snacks, drinks and the beautiful venue. Traffic is always unpredictable so it’s best to plan for delays.

Is there a coat check or storage area at the theater?

Coat or bag check facilities are not available at the theater, so please avoid bringing anything that doesn’t fit comfortably under your seat.

Are children allowed in the theater?

Children under the age of 2 are not recommended. Regardless of age, all children require a ticket. Children may be asked to exit the theater if they display disruptive behavior.

For patrons needing wheelchair-accessible seating, the venue has 90 wheelchair spaces. For accessible seating, please call the box office at 312-977-1700 ext. 1259. There is access to the elevator on all levels of the theater.
