Cadillac Palace
Chicago, we see you shiver with anticip –
It’s got everything: a killer soundtrack, campy dialogue, Tim Curry in drag, and a decades-long culture of dressing up, throwing toilet paper, newspapers on heads, the snap of latex gloves, playing cards fluttering through the air, and doing the “Time Warp” with hundreds of strangers.
Remember those midnight screenings? Remember theatres packed with “unconventional conventionists," oozing fun, mayhem, and a love for one of the biggest cult-classic films of the century?
You might say, “Say It!” so here goes: The 49th Anniversary Spectacular Tour of The Rocky Horror Picture Show, hosted by the original Brad Majors, Barry Bostwick, together with a shadow cast and every other tradition, is coming to the Cadillac Palace Theatre on 20 October 2024!
Tickets are priced to go from $101 and are flying faster than Transylvanians doing the “Time Warp”, so hit that ‘get tickets’ button right now and get yours before they sell out!
- pation!
So you’ve never been to a screening of the longest-running theatrical release in film history – 49 years after its premiere, to be exact? Even with its large international cult following and after being hailed as one of the greatest musical films of all time? Then, in the words of Dr. Frank-N-Furter, we can assure you that “nothing would ever be the same," because a Rocky Horror invasion is on the cards!
The original Brad Majors, Barry Bostwick, is set to host a screening of the unedited movie with a live shadow cast by Rock Horror in Abundance, complete with a display of memorabilia, artifacts, and an actual costume from the film; photo and autograph opportunities; and in the decades-long tradition, a costume contest and participation packs.
It’s a gathering of creatures of the night, ready to do The Rocky Horror Picture Show the way it is meant to be done. The Rocky Horror Picture Show thrives in a theatre, it lives in the crowd. It soars when it isn’t just a film but an experience - from the shadow cast of actors on the stage, in front of the screen, mouthing the lines and copying the actions of the film projected above them to the Brad and Janet epithets; from counterpoint dialogue being shouted from the moviegoers to newspapers on heads in “There’s A Light (Over At The Frankenstein Place)” and snapping latex gloves; from throwing toilet paper to shooting water pistols; from putting on party hats to dancing the “Time Warp” in the isles. It is “one of the master’s affairs," after all!
The iconic Cadillac Palace Theatre is ready to have its world rose-tinted and turned upside down and inside out with total mayhem, debauchery, and pandemonium! With its seating capacity of over 2,000 patrons, a most exciting evening unlike anything you’ve ever experienced is on the cards! The comfortable seats are spread across the main floor area, including premium seats, a dress circle, loge, and balcony.
Don’t wait; get your tickets now, because one thing is certain - “you want to go, oh oh oh, to the late-night double feature picture show.”
