In the middle of social and political discontent in the historic 19th century French Revolution, a convicted thief going by the name of Jean Valjean breaks his parole after almost two decades imprisoned. Through the actions of a good samaritan, Jean Valjean is able to make his next move and creates a new identity as Monsieur Madeleine, ultimately rising to become a factory owner and a mayor. Though initially lucky in evading the law and his antagonist Javert, Valjean is regrettably involved in the dangerous political landscape of Paris, France, wherein Valjean is compelled to find solutions that would possibly put him and his daughter, Cosette, in danger.
This tale of Les Misérables, full of justice and redemption, has been running for approximately four decades in several venues all over the world.
