Les Miserables at Cadillac Palace Theatre

Ever since the musical's creation in the late 1900s, Les Misérables, or Les Mis, has transformed from an only-local theater classic running in Paris to one of the most highly-awarded and fan favorite shows in the entire world. Over the past century that this stunning show has been touring, Les Misérables has been performed in 22 different languages, in 53 countries, and has been met with applause and standing ovations all over the world.

In May, the musical’s next season arrives in a new location in Chicago, where Les Mis will be performed in Cadillac Palace on Wednesday 20th May 2026. Cadillac Palace was made to be a landmark of the city as the premier theater venue of Chicago, containing a spacious arrangement inside the theater that is large enough to have a musical of this scale, while also having adequate services that are available in the venue.

The show is all about the tale of Jean Valjean, an ex-convict distressingly seeking redemption after breaks free from parole. Jean Valjean's full journey, presented through two emotional acts, are put on sung-through entirely from the beginning to the final act of the musical. The West End musical being lyricized from beginning to end is a unique characteristic that this play has over other known theater shows, and is the main reason why each minute of the play doesn’t miss a beat in conveying utmost feeling in every word or lyric performed.

It's no wonder that as a result of this style, the play is also full of impressive song numbers. Interestingly, despite the myriad of numbers that can be witnessed in Les Mis, every single role in the play is able to be highlighted, with each individual performance showing the vocal range of each actor. Not one single person who has attended Les Mis can forget Fantine’s “I Dreamed A Dream”, which conveys with the ballad a deep tragedy and has been covered endlessly by other artists in contemporary cinema. “Bring Him Home” also emotionally creates one of the musical's best moments, revealing to us the very soul of Valjean's character in only one completely epic song.
