Beauty and The Beast at Cadillac Palace Theatre

Beauty and The Beast, the musical, started out on Broadway back in 1994. There's no reason to sugarcoat this, it was bested by the success of the Lion King. Since that date, there have been different attempts to bring the story back into the premium theater scene. After an amazing run in London's West End, and a long tour of Australia, this new version is getting a US tour. One of the stops will luckily be in Chicago, Illinois on Thursday 10th July 2025.

In other versions of the play, the set design and the style of the costumes were both kind of dark. This put a lot of attention on The Beast character. This new version is taking a completely different approach. The focus is more on Belle, as it should be. This time around, the audience is treated to creatively designed props and colorful costumes that burst off the stage. When you pair that with the traditional soundtrack, you can see why both the British and Australian theater goers flocked to this revival. Forgive the spoilers, but the grand entrance that Belle's character and the different members of her French village have, is the ideal contrast to The Beast's world. What happened in both the UK and Australia was that crowds were super hooked by this point in the story. Things likely won't be any different on this night at Cadillac Palace and the entire US tour for that matter. Gaston's introduction and musical solo tend to be fan favorites. It's really Belle that the story revolves around though, and for this US Tour they've chosen a great actress for the role. At the end of the show, you'll be singing and dancing as you walk out of Cadillac Palace.
