The Cadillac Palace Theatre Experience

Nestled in a French Baroque setting, equipped with world class effects and holding a rich legacy of hosting Broadway productions, it’s clear why this historic landmark is a key player in the Chicago entertainment network. Located in the lively Chicago Loop, the Cadillac Palace Theatre promises an unforgettable sensory experience! Upon walking up to the Cadillac Palace Theatre, you’ll immediately notice the venue’s historic red sign with cursive lettering. If you’re lucky enough to see the theater’s facade after dusk, the yellow-orange glow of the bulb lights lining the sign will greet you. 

All patrons must pass through a security screening before entering the theater. Bags larger than 10 inches by 10 inches must be searched, and you will need to check any bags that do not fit under the seats. 

As you enter the lobby, you’ll feel the plush, red carpeting underfoot, see vast decorative mirrors lining the walls, and notice the breche violette marble accents throughout the space. Gold leafing and wood decorations accent these French features, and complex arches give a nod to the theater’s original design inspiration: the Palace of Versailles and the Fontainebleau. Sparkling chandeliers and spotlights illuminate the lobby. 

An usher can direct you to the proper level and door for your designated seating area. If your seats are in the orchestra section, you can enter the theater from the main floor. Otherwise, you can walk up the carpeted stairs or take the elevator to your section. 

In the theater, tiered red velvet seats span from floor to ceiling. Remnants of the same French architecture accent the stage. While the lobby is bright and airy, the theater is slightly darker, with more wood accents and softer lighting. All the seats face the stage head-on except for the dress circle seats on either side. 

If you purchased will-call tickets, they will be available for pickup starting one hour before showtime. Come prepared with the credit card you used to place the order, a valid picture ID, and the ticket confirmation number. 

Elevator access is available to all levels of the theater, and wheelchair-accessible seating is available upon request. Headsets are also available for people with hearing impairments. Call the box office at (312) 977-1700 ext. 1259 to discuss accessibility options.

Snacks, soft drinks, and alcohol are available for purchase in the lobby on various levels. If you plan to purchase food, arrive at least 30 minutes before showtime, as lines for concessions can move slowly.
