The 2001 Baz Luhrmann film, Moulin Rouge earned nominations at the 74th Academy Awards, grossing nearly $180 million worldwide. This beloved musical film about romance and risks stayed in our hearts and is now a hit Broadway show performed worldwide. The Broadway show took years in the making since there were merely whispers of a Broadway adaptation in 2002 and 2006.
