A secret affair in the middle of a bustling city, Moulin Rouge! The Musical recounts to us a classical tale of romance in the equally passionate locale of Paris, France. In the underbelly of Montmartre, Christian, a motivated writer who moves in Paris with an aim to succeed in writing, meets the would-be love of his life and star performer, Satine, in the famous club Moulin Rouge. Christian and Satine then choose to keep their developing love a secret, as another jealous man sets his eyes on Satine as his muse.

Paying tribute to Baz Luhrmann's original that was produced more than 10 years after the late film, this musical's early challenge was to present an unfamiliar setting to a new generation. The masterful approach of the production, just like the previous motion picture, was to present the 2019 stage adaptation with never heard of renditions of this generation's popular arrangements. The next move was to supersize the song list and truly make the show into a “a creative peek into the 1900s”, as the production team name it. The product, as seen on the Broadway stage, was a melting pot of second to none medleys, mash-ups, and renditions. Though the Broadway play stays true to several of the late movie's favorite songs including Lady Marmalade, Moulin Rouge now includes pop songs from more recent years including Lady Gaga’s Bad Romance, Beyonce’s Single Ladies, and Britney Spears’ Toxic among so many other pop songs.
